This beautiful pillow vase was produced by the Consolidated Glass Company as part of the Martele line. Designed by Reuben Haley, the vase was produced in the late 1920's. The pattern is called 'Olives', though some feel they look more like plums... The vase is listed in the Consolidated catalog as the #2695 Olive vase, and measures 8 inches by 3 1/2 inches by 4 inches high. The color is referred to as French Crystal: high polish details against a satin finish background - named because of the Lalique quality this finish gives the glass. What is really interesting is that this vase comes with a crystal flower frog that isn't listed in any catalog. I purchased it this way - don't know if someone put them together or if it was available at the original time of production, but the frog fits perfectly. Perfect condition.
